Tips For Caring For Your Toothbrush

By on September 22, 2014

Have you heard the old adage that a man is only as good as his tools? This is definitely true when it comes to what you use to care for your teeth. You wouldn’t expect a comb with only a few teeth to comb your hair, and you shouldn’t expect an old, worn out toothbrush to remove that bacteria from your mouth. Take a look at our list of care techniques below to ensure that your toothbrush is in optimal condition.

1) Select the Best
Choose a toothbrush that is right for your mouth. We recommend soft-bristle toothbrushes that fit well into your mouth. Choose a brush that will cover all of your chewing surfaces. The handle should fit comfortably in your hand and and easy to use.

2) Keep it Clean
Keep your toothbrush clean from bacteria by rinsing it thoroughly after each brushing. Store your toothbrush in a dry, open area away from other toothbrushes so as to avoid the passing of germs.

3) Replace it Often
Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months to maintain a stellar cleaning ability. Keep a few extra brushes under your sink so that switching to a new brush is easy to do.

Keeping your toothbrush in great condition is the best way to ensure that your brush is ready to tackle the task of keeping your smile clean. Contact us today to set up a cleaning appointment, and bring any questions you might have about caring for your toothbrush. We can’t wait to see you!
