Sedation Dentistry in Carmel, IN

Somewhere about 90% of our patients would agree that they feel anxious when they come to the dentist. We can’t say that we blame them. Our society is already stressed to the max, and then we ask you to open your mouth while we work on it with metal instruments. That’s kind of a recipe for anxiety, which is why we take the anxiety out of coming to the dentist with our sedation dentistry techniques. We offer three forms of sedation dentistry to help our patients relax during their appointment, which in turn helps us do better dentistry.

Nitrous Oxide
The most well-known form of sedation is nitrous oxide, or laughing gas. Administered through a mask over the nose, this gas will help the patient relax but still be aware of what’s going on. It will wear off quickly so that the patient can return to normal life immediately after the appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral conscious sedation is taken as a pill about an hour before a procedure. Have a friend drive you to your appointment, and experience an even deeper relaxation than nitrous oxide. Many of our patients end up falling asleep right in the chair, they are so relaxed! You will be easily awakened so that we can ask questions and give instructions when needed, but you will need someone to drive you home.

NuCalm Relaxation
If you would like sedation but don’t want to use drugs to achieve relaxation, NuCalm is perfect for you! Through a collection of dietary supplement, patches, headphones and eye mask, we are able to put your body into a relaxation similar to the first stage of sleep. You will stay completely relaxed during the entire procedure until we wake you up when we are finished.

Being relaxed during a dental procedure makes you feel more at ease, but it also allows us to get more, better dentistry complete in your mouth. We can do work in one appointment that we used to have to spread over several appointments. You’ll love your feeling of relaxation as well as the knowledge that you won’t have to come back for more work! Contact us today to find out more about how you can experience great dental care without the stress and anxiety! Be prepared to rest and relax!
